Parent Orientation Night for Pre-K & Kindergarten
Friday, August 2nd from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
There will be an important meeting for parents of Pre-K and Kindergarten students on Friday, August 2nd, from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Drop off your child's supplies and learn more about your child's daily schedule. This meeting is for parents only. Please plan for at least one parent to attend.
MEET and GREET the Teacher - Grades 1-8
Friday, August 2nd from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
We invite all students and parents from grades 1-8 to drop by the school any time between the hours of 4:00-6:00 pm, MEET the Teacher, drop off supplies and say hello. THIS IS NOT THE TRADITIONAL PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT. We will host a CURRICULUM NIGHT on August 20th from 6:15-8:00 pm.

CURRICULUM NIGHT - for Grades 1-5
Tuesday, August 20th from 6:15 - 8:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, August 20th parents of students in grades 1st-5th will attend teacher presentations explaining class expectations and procedures. This is for parents only. Please plan for at least one parent to attend this session. New families will find this session especially helpful; therefore, attendance is required for all new parents to SJE. Existing families will have an opportunity to hear grade specific requirements and tips to ensure a successful and smooth transition into this school year.
Representatives will be available to answer questions about our Athletic Program, volunteer service hour opportunities, Home and School events, and the many ways to support our National Blue Ribbon School.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CURRICULUM NIGHT -for Grades 6-8
Tuesday, August 20th from 6:15 - 8:00 p.m.
This is a mandatory meeting for parents only. Middle school is a transitional time and it is very important that parents attend this meeting. Middle school teachers will address common procedures and expectations for Middle School students including discipline, added student responsibilities, the sports program, academic competitions, and emphasis on 21st century skills. We will also discuss our Middle School House System. One parent is required to attend. Students do not attend these informational sessions. Middle school students will receive the required student Technology orientation and training during school hours.
Parents of 6th Grade students or those new to middle school must attend the Middle School Orientation meeting presented by Dr. Rast in the Church at 6:15 p.m. - Teacher informative sessions will begin after this presentation. Parents will visit with each of their child's teachers and catch a sneak peek of topics students will learn during the school year.
Parents of 7th Grade students will attend "The Dynamics of 7th Grade" presented by Mrs. Vogtner in the Science Lab at 6:15 p.m. Join us as we explore the rapidly changing physical, social and emotional dynamics of 7th grade students. We will identify some of the academic and social needs of adolescent students as well as what research suggests as best practices for teaching, learning and parenting. Teacher informative sessions will begin after this presentation.
Parents of 8th Grade students will attend a session about Graduation Requirements (SSAT Test Dates, High School Open House Schedules, Teacher Recommendation Forms, Financial Aid, Graduation Fees, OLM Scholarship Opportunities & more) presented by Ms. Boisis, Ms. Fisher, Mr. Spalitto and Mr. Bodington in the Media Center at 6:15 p.m. Teacher informative sessions will begin after this presentation.
Required Technology Orientation - Two Options- All Middle School Parents must attend one of the Technology Orientation Sessions before students will be issued their 1:1 device. Sessions will be offered on Wednesday, August 7th from 7:30am to 8:00am OR Thursday, August 8th from 5:30 pm-6:00 pm in the Media Center. The 1:1 Technology Agreement distributed during this session and the Acceptable Use Policy Form must be signed and returned prior to any use of technology by students.
